Football Festivals in Communities
SALT seeks to increase contact with communities not yet covered by our year-round programming. Therefore, we organise 8 to 12 football festivals every year which are specifically designed to meet a community’s needs and intended to be both fun and educational. A typical festival will run for a full day and include:
- life skill lessons, including basic hygiene and anti-trafficking messages
- basic skill stations, including fundamentals of fitness and play
- games to give all participants a chance to play football
- free nutritional lunch
- donation of new balls to the local community

Select Team Opportunities
Select teams provide an opportunity for the more dedicated and talented players as well as coaches to develop their skills further. SALT select teams are often invited to national competitions organized by the Football Federation (FFC), which give players a chance to showcase their abilities, comparing their level with the best of Cambodia.
These teams also help SALT Academy gain further recognition as a premier football program. Several players from SALT have been selected to both the Men’s National Team and national women’s select teams, bringing both pride for all league participants and recognition from FIFA and the FFC.
